Det var bara ett halvår efter Nintendo 3DS-premiären som Nintendo tvingades erkänna att den sålde långt under förväntan. Resultatet blev att man var tvungen att sänka priset på enheten drastiskt. Men något sådant är inte intressant för Sonys del, säger de i en intervju med CVG där de får en direkt fråga om att eventuellt sänka priset.

"Not currently - it will take several years for this investment to pay back as it stands, so if we have to do more with the price... Clearly, we'll have to view how consumers respond - do they value the amount of technology packed into that box?", säger brittiska Playstation-bossen Fergal Gara.

På vad som är en bra prisnivå för PS Vita svarar Gara såhär: "One benchmark I would draw is that it is round about half of the price-point of an entry-level tablet, and considerably less than a high-end smartphone. So, what's the appropriate point of reference for its price?"
